ChaplainWatch is a charitable faith-based community service organisation. Founded in 2001, by Pastor Lance Mergard, ChaplainWatch has made it’s home on the streets and in the entertainment precincts of Brisbane, where  we strive to continuously and intentionally achieve our mission, ‘watching out for you when good times go bad’.

ChaplainWatch seeks to intentionally intervene in areas of human need with an approach that recognises essential dignity and worth of each person – this guides our service delivery in each of our four project areas: ChaplainWatch, NightWatch, StreetWatch, LifeWatch.

Order of Australia (OAM) Rev Lance Mergard 2020

7 July 2020: Rev Lance Mergard awarded the Order of Australia Medal for service to the community through social welfare organisations.

Rotary International 'Paul Harris Fellow' Award 2015

Lance Mergard, Senior Chaplain ChaplainWatch received the honour of being recognised with a Paul Harris Fellow in September 2015. The Fortitude Valley Rotary club awarded the honour to Lance as meeting high professional and personal standards set forth by Paul Harris and Rotary International.
